We plant trees because we love them and want to beautify the environment. All of our planting practices are focused on ensuring your tree is healthy for decades to come. Many landscapers plant a tree as fast as they can using subpar practices because they know that the tree will do fine for the first four or five years regardless of how they plant it.
We specialize in evergreen hedges for privacy. These usually contain Hollies, Magnolias and Green Giants. These trees do extremely well in Middle Tennessee and also grow quickly. We will not plant Leyland Cypress due to various health issues. We also plant a variety of deciduous trees such as Crepe Myrtles, Maples, Oaks, fruit trees and many more.
Middle Tennessee has mild enough winters that trees can be planted all year long. That being said, we do not plant from June-August due to the extra watering that is required to keep a tree alive if planted during the summer.
There are many factors that go into this answer. It depends on the type of tree, the size of tree, the hours of sunlight it receives, the soil type, container/B&B and how long the tree has been in the ground. When we plant your new trees we will give you a customized watering schedule that takes into account all of the variables above. That being said, here are some rough guidelines.
Many of the trees we plant come from our farm here in Franklin, TN. We believe that plants grown close to where they will eventually be planted will be better able to withstand everything the local climate can throw at them! We can also source many different plants from our neaby wholesale contacts.
Many of our clients want instant privacy and that is something we can offer! We grow most of our evergreen plants in a tight formation so that they are ready to become your instant hedge!
We often plant dedciduous trees that are 15-20 feet tall in order to give our clients instant gratification with their landscape. When it comes to evergreen trees, we generally don't recommend planting anything over 10-12 feet.
